YEONWOO is a pianist and educator who has devoted over fifteen years to the study and performance of piano. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she was a recipient of a music merit scholarship throughout her undergraduate studies.
During her time at UCLA, Chu studied under the mentorship of Inna Faliks and David Kaplan, both internationally renowned pianists and pedagogues. She has further refined her artistry through masterclasses with distinguished musicians including Ian Jones, Régulo Martínez-Antón, Eric Le Van, and Nina Scolnik.
Yeonwoo has appeared in performance venues such as the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla and has been recognized in competitions including the Temecula Valley Symphony Young Artists Competition. Her musical foundation, influenced by both Korean and Russian piano traditions, informs her distinctive approach to performance and instruction.
As an educator, Yeonwoo is dedicated to cultivating each student’s individual musicianship through a balance of technical precision, expressive depth, and artistic curiosity. She believes that music education not only develops disciplined skill but also nurtures creativity and emotional intelligence—core elements she regards as essential to meaningful music-making.
