Congratulations to two sdpa students on their debut competition results at the 2025 San Diego Sonata Contest.
Camila Mendoza, student of Seth Quay, took second prize in Level 6B performing the third movement of Robert Vandall's Jazz Sonatina.
Brandon Swap, student of Brendan Nguyen, took second prize in Level 8 performing the third movement of Dmitry Kabalevsky's Sonatina, Op. 13, No. 1.
A first competition brings its own kind of pressure, and results like these reflect the preparation both students put in behind the scenes.
