sdpa Students Sweep Southern California State Concerto Competition

Students from sdpa took all three top prizes in the 15-18 category at the Southern California State Concerto Competition, a clean sweep of one of the state's most competitive age brackets.

Studying with Chetan Tierra, Luna Lee took first prize, Colvin Davis took second, and Sage Taylor took third. Jessie Chang's student, Caleb Tang, added an Honorable Mention, extending the result beyond a single studio.

With her win, Luna advances to the statewide final in June, where she'll face the winner of the Northern California Competition for the grand prize. That opponent studies with Hans Boepple, who taught Chetan during his own pre-college years, a full-circle matchup between teacher and student decades apart.
